What we DO

The World Veterinary Environmental Alliance (WVEA) empowers the global veterinary profession to take action for climate stability, sustainability, and the protection of biodiversity.

We unite veterinarians and allied professionals through:

• Collaboration
  We partner with veterinary and allied environmental organisations, associations, and institutions to inspire, promote and scale positive action already underway.

• Education
  We help equip veterinary practitioners, academics, governments, and industry with the knowledge and tools to respond effectively to climate change, land-use impacts, and pollution across all animal sectors.

• Policy Leadership
  We support the development and implementation of science-based policies on climate, biodiversity and sustainable animal systems at national and global levels.

• Advocacy with Impact
  As trusted, scientific voices, we advocate together, engaging governments, businesses, and the public to drive environmentally responsible decisions.

• Industry Engagement
  We work with the veterinary supply chain to fast-track emissions reductions and sustainability in animal care.

• Leading by Example
  We showcase and share practical solutions—like emissions reduction and circularity programs—to inspire action across the profession. Accreditation and certification tools are in development.

• Public Influence
  We amplify our message through media, events and storytelling—reaching beyond the profession to create cultural change.
